Gmail is used in two separate ways, with separate permissions:

## Connect for Knowledge

1. **Workspace → Integrations → Gmail → Connect**, and approve read-only access
   with Google.
2. The mailbox is linked to **one workspace** and starts syncing.

### What's synced

- Messages, with their headers and readable body text (HTML is reduced to
  text).
- The first sync reads your mailbox; later syncs pick up only changes, including
  deletions.
- Messages are **private to the mailbox owner**. Other members of the workspace
  can't search them.

### Disconnect

Disconnect from the connection's menu. Ysra revokes its access with Google and
removes the connection.

## Mail workers

A [mail worker](../workers/types.md#mail) can search the mailbox you synced for
Knowledge. To **draft** or **send**, it needs its own mail connection, added in
[Account settings](../workspace/settings.md) and bound to the worker, plus the
matching grants:

- **Mail draft** — creates drafts; never sends.
- **Mail send** — sends only an exact draft you approved, once.
