The **wallet** is your account's spending limit for Ysra's work. It belongs to
your organisation if you're part of one, and to you otherwise.

## Reading the wallet

| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Available** | What new work can still spend: budget minus reserved minus spent. |
| **Budget** | The total you've allowed. |
| **Reserved** | Held by sessions that are running right now. |
| **Spent** | Settled cost of finished work. |

## How sessions use it

1. When a session starts, it **reserves** its budget from the wallet.
2. As it works, cost is recorded against that reservation.
3. When it ends, actual cost is **settled** and anything unused is returned.
4. If a session would exceed its budget, it stops and asks — see
   [Start a session](../developer/start-a-session.md#budgets).

## Add credit or set a budget

**Workspace → Wallet & usage**:

- **Add credit** increases the budget by an amount.
- **Set budget** replaces the total. It can't go below what's already spent or
  reserved.

Both are safe to retry: a request sent twice moves the money once. If someone
else changed the wallet at the same moment, you're shown the current figures
instead of silently overwriting them.

## Usage

The usage view breaks spending down by session, repository and project:

- **Usage events** — each unit of work with its session, repository, calls,
  tokens and cost.
- **Wallet ledger** — every movement: budget set, credit added, reserved,
  released, spent.
- **Lifetime totals** — cost, calls, tokens and events.

Every session also shows its own spend against its budget in the workroom
header, and in its [report](../developer/reports.md).

## When the wallet is enforced

A new account starts with each session's budget as the only limit. The wallet
becomes **enforced** as soon as you set a budget or add credit; from then on,
sessions can only reserve what the wallet has available.
