Check which version of the desktop app you have, get a newer one, and remove the app cleanly on macOS, Windows and Linux.

On this page

Check your version#

The version is at the bottom of Settings, and in About Ysra:

Ysra 1.0.0 (build 3ef04a8, …)

You can select and copy that line when you contact support.

Update#

Updates are never installed automatically. The app looks for a newer version when it starts and every few hours after that. When there is one, the Settings footer shows:

Version 1.0.1 is available · Download

Choose Download, then install the file the same way as the first time:

  • macOS: open the .dmg and drag Ysra into Applications, replacing the old copy.
  • Windows: run the installer.
  • Linux: sudo apt install ./Ysra-linux-amd64.deb.

Quit Ysra before you install. Threads that were working pause and continue when you open the app again.

Uninstall#

  • macOS: quit Ysra, then drag it from Applications to the Trash.
  • Windows: Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Ysra → Uninstall. This also removes Open in Ysra from the folder menu.
  • Linux: sudo apt remove ysra-desktop.

Remove my data too#

The app and the CLI share one folder, ~/.ysra. It holds what undo needs, the record of what I did, tools I installed for you, and your targets.

Delete it only if you want all of that gone, and keep a copy of targets.json if you want your targets back later:

rm -rf ~/.ysra

Uninstalling never touches your project folders or ~/.ssh.
